Install the fuel filter, and tighten the fuel filter bracket.
    2. Insert the main line on the filter and tighten the bolts
    3. Install the clips and make sure that the do not interfere with other components

Where is the fuel filter in a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon?

Actually, yes, the fuel filter is located on the electric fuel pump, inside the tank, accessed via a small plate under the rear seat.)

Here is a funny thread about Jiffy Lube thinking they can change one.

http://www.hyundai-forums.com/cm-2007-2012-santa-fe/133876-mystery-fuel-filter-2007-sf-2-7l-v6.html

and here is a great step by step post with pictures.

So after all the questions about where our fuel filters are, how many there are etc etc I decided to make this DIY while replacing mine. My car is an 05 V6, so there may be slight differences, especially with 2003-2004 Tibs with the return-less fuel system (I believe the main filter is different). In my owner's manual it says to replace the fuel filter every 37,500 miles (strange interval I know). I checked hmaservice for an 08 and it says the same thing. For an 04 it says every 52,500. Follow your specific manual.

So let's get started. Tools: 12mm socket with extension; 8mm socket with extension (phillips screwdriver might work); pliers; flathead screwdriver; bucket (recommended)

WHERE IS THE FUEL FILTER LOCATED ON A 2004 HYUNDAI TIBURON? WOULD ROUGH IDLING BE A SYMPTOM OF A BAD FUEL FILTER? 63,000 ORIGINAL MILES, ORIGINAL FUEL FILTER

Usually plugged fuel filters and/or bad pumps cause loss of power at the high end (full throttle) when you are sucking down the fuel not so much at the low end.

Rough idles can be a lot of things, usually something to do with the fuel mixture or timings. Dirty injectors, distributor problems, streatched out timing chain/belts... those are a few common rough idle issues.

Has the fuel economy gone down? Does it still have good acceleration?

Peace,

Where is the fuel filter

It's probably on top of the fuel tank on the passenger side as in other Hyundai models.

Installing a new fuel filter in a 2001 hyundai tiburon

There is two possible locations. One is inline which is under the car, the other is in engine compartement. First you need to remove the gas cap and release fuel pressure. Also relieve pressure on fuel rail with a rag to catch excess fuel. Than use a flex nut wrench to remove filter, or remove claps that hold on filter. Some filters require special cheap plastic tools that will remove the filter connections.
Remove filter and replace with new one. and your done.

If the filter is not at the tank, under the access panel, under the rear seat, then it is inside the tank.
