Look at it,scratch bum and light a *** puff on same whilst you survey situation. Then go down cafe for coffee .come back and get a big screwdriver and grovel under engine compartment removing belly plate.Find the torch ??then do into town for new batterys and another coffee ,come back talk to another customer for half hour then lay under car and shine torch up and flick lever back so bonnet opens and remove the spanner you left under bonnet last time .Refit belly plate take car for a test drive and go to cafe again for a pincho of tortilla and another coffee.charge customer for a days work.

Can you tell me please where to find tools that usually accompany car and also the device for lowering spare wheel

Make and model?
They vary a lot on how to lower the spare but generally you will need a wheel brace. As for the bonnet release..... try under the steering column, under the passenger glovebox and either side lower down the window pillars. Some even have a keyhole behind the bonnet badge that swings up. When released, the secondary catch is always fun to work out.....not! Lift the bonnet slightly and look in the grill and see if a little handle has popped out for you to pull. Otherwise try and look and feel under the bonnet for a release mechanism.
Like I said, make and model will help someone help you. You could also try owners forums online. I find them great for just about any problem.

How do u open the bonnet please?

Under the passengers side of the dashboard you will find a red lever. Pull this for stage one. Then lift the bonnet slightly and on the right-hand side slide your hand in to feel a lever. Lift the lever to release the bonnet.

I am unable to fjnd the bonnet catch on my porsche 928 (1983) please can you help

1986 model has the bonnet release inside the footwell on the driver side. I'm referring to a right hand drive model, the level is on the right, and is black with a plastic housing to protect the carpet.

The safety catch after you've pulled the release is in the centre at the front of the bonnet. With your hand palm up put fingers in and under at about 45 degrees and you'll feel the lever which you need to lift while easing up the bonnet.

Hope this helps!

Sticking bonnet offside catch. possible cable stretched. How to open the bonnet

if the bonnets cable is not broken wiggle one corner of the bonnet and see if it will release the catch. You may have to push on the corner very hard rapidly even on both sides if one side does nbot work for you. I find that to work on most cars. The problem for most cars that the hood or bonnet adjusters are worn and bind the opening process

This car is a 1.6 16v renault megane, the bonnet release lever does not open the bonnet, the cable appears to have stretched or snapped, how can i get in the bonnet? thanks

hi,
If the cable is snapped in your car, then get underneath the car.Try to reach the catch and flip it manually. If you are unable to reach it with bare hands, a bent metal hanger would help to do it.Now,open the bonnet. You can reach the parts in bonnet now. If you are uncomfortable or unable to do it, please call a "Repair person" in the nearest locality to help you.Have a nice day. Please rate my solution as helpful.

Bonnet wont lock

Bonnet is held separately: mechanisms front left and front right. Suggest one latch only is operating/secure in your case; non-secured side will float and sit slightly proud of front wing line. Unscrew mechanism, detatch release cable and free-up "spring and pawl"; refit etc.

I just got a Landrover Discovery 1991 V8. Tried to open the bonnet release, but no joy. How can I open the bonnet if the release cable is Kaput? Any help gratefully received

Try to put a screwdriver from the front plastic grille, up to the lock mechanism and move it to open the mechanism. If the bonnet has opened slightly , then you need assistance. One person to try to lift the bonnet and another to push the bonnet from side to side.. Unfortunately its not possible to remove the front grille to gain access to the lock without braking the plastic grille, as there are screws holding it to the top valance.
