The front mounts support the engine at each side (passenger and driver side of the engine block.

These supports are made of resilient rubber.

REMOVAL
(1) Disconnect negative cable from battery.
(2) Raise the vehicle
(3) Support the engine using a block of wood between the oil pan and floor jack so you dont dent the oil pan.
(4) Remove the nut from the through bolt but DO NOT remove the through bolt.
(5) Remove the retaining bolts and nuts from the
support cushions
(6) Remove the through bolt.
(7) Remove the support cushions.

Transmission mount (aka rear engine mount)

A resilient rubber cushion supports the transmission
at the rear between the transmission extension
housing and the rear support crossmember or skid
plate.

REMOVAL
(1) Disconnect negative cable from battery.
(2) Raise the vehicle and support the transmission.
(3) Remove the nuts holding the support cushion
to the crossmember
(4) remove the crossmember (sometimes you dont have to completely remove it but its easier if you do)
5. Remove the tranny mount

The engine mounts are located about the middle of the block on the side of the engine. The only other mount is located under transmission.

Have some sort of broken part in rear of my car

If the manual doesn't contain the picture, then you should be able to find one online. If you are worried about realiability, you can usually get help from the dealer you got the car. They may have diagrams that can help you decide what parts you need.

It sounds like a broken motor mount.
It may be a "lost" motor mount screw / nut.

Symptom? It probably makes more noise/thump when you make a sharp turn to right or left.
Also when you "rev" the engine...

How do you replace serpentine belt on 1998 Olds88

i actually just bought the same car. there is a spacer about 4 inches long near the a/c compressor that has a long stud going thru it and a nut at the end.this is what "traps' the serp belt.you have to look closely otherwise you will think you have to disconnect motor mount.the stud unscrews-its an inverted(female)torx.ive been a mechanic for 20 years.its not the simplest design they could have made.the stud threads into either the block or timing cover,i forget which.once you have the stud out, wiggle or pry the long spacer out and youll be able to remove the belt.
