My Honda starts great when I leave home, but if I stop anywhere or wait at too many lights, I'm in trouble. It starts again, but acts like it's not getting enough gas. It sputters and quits again and again. I floor the gas pedal but it doesn't help. Leaving it in neutral or first with the clutch on doesn't help. Sometimes the engine light goes on, sometimes not. Sometimes it backfires, other times, not. It's frustrating to get stuck in the middle of a busy intersection. It
eventually sputters to the other side, but not until I've been honked
at and flipped off several times. If I go really slow afterwards (no
choice), the does it for a few blocks, then will kick in--until the
next stop light. Once it gets up to speed and stays there (freeway)
there is no problem until the next stop.
I've replaced the fuel and air filters and distributer. My mechanic is stumped.

    Hi

I take it the problem is only apparent once the engine has warmed up? If so, then if you were to put your foot to the boards, would the car accelerate as though nothing was wrong, or would it play up?

    Regards

I would first check your air cleaner and all the vacuum lines. Make sure you don't hear any hissing sounds in the engine compartment. Another thing that does make sense is your catalytic converter could be breaking up inside. The pressure pushed the pieces into the muffler and is chocking out the release flow. To check this go under the car and tap the muffler and the catalytic (not at the same time). Tap it with some force(enough to rattle them). If you hear things rattling when you do this then that may very well be the problem. It does happen. And from what you are decribing this last suggestion sounds most likely what it is.

One common problem area is the ignition distributor. Another area to check is the electric fuel pump and filter. Is your warning light on for engine/PGM? If so, check for fault codes.

your overloaded I presume you have other itemswired in and its tripping the fuse or you don't have the correct amp fuse in there, if it says 10 amp don't put a 5 or a 20 put a 10 amp. if it continues to trip yes you are over loaded somewhere.

Gear shift stuck in park -- 2002 Honda Accord SE

Take it to the dealer to fix it for a permanent solution, but there is a quick fix when in a bind...

There is a little key space on the left side of Park, take a screwdriver and open that and then take the screwdriver and touch the pad that is about an inch down in that hole, while touching it, you can put the car into any gear.

It is your celluloid that is sticky, which sometimes happens in hot/muggy weather. You may need that replaced.

I have a 90 honda accord ex. something is killing my batttery

Your problem could be like a stereo being left on and it drains the battery, or you could just have a short in your system somewhere, so juice is constantly being sucked out of it.

You will need to pull the speedometer out and have the odometer (u call mileage counter) repaired, the little drive gear that comes off the speedometer to operate the odometer has failed or broken.
