yes,it could be the speed sensor or shift solenoid,take it to aamco they do a free diagnostics.

have truck scanned some auto stores such as auto zone / advanced auto do it for free check ur local area the trouble code will give u a start point to fixing ur problem good luck

My ss silverado check engine light stays on. When

you need to have the codes read to see what direction to go for repairs,since moisture affects it,you can have the codes read at Autozone for free.

Cruise control doesn't work.

check for a vacuum leak i believe the cruise control runs off a vacuum

You'll need to get the trouble codes read from the truck's computer memory. The Check Engine Light comes on when codes are stored. You can go to an auto parts store and ask if they read them for free, buy a code scanner, or take it to a shop. Without those codes we'd just be guessing at what's wrong ;-)
