Question about 1999 BMW 5 Series
BMW 528I AIR CONDITIONER, WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY, THE AIR WENT TO HOT, AND THE DASHBOARD READ -40 DEGREES.
The reason your A/C sent hot and dash showed -40 is because you probably lost your amibent sensor. Its a sensor that reads the tempature outside and if its cold it will not allow your a/c to work, if you force it, you'll cause far more damage then you'd like. You can go to www.bimmerspecialist.com and find an ambient sensor. Also check www.bimmerfest.com to get pictures where your amibent senor is located. Mine was in back of the front / passanger sensor, and it got ripped off as I hit something on the road. Hope this helps...
