Just had the same problem with my 2001 dodge stratus the blower motor was squeling really loud had to replace that then it only worked on 4 also first it was 3 and 4 then only 4. It actually was the blower motor resistar. If you do replace this it has a TSB(Technical Service Bulletin) Your going to have to opening the opening of the resistar a little bit more to get it in. Actually just replaced it today and now all the speeds work.

Newer cars are ran with electical switches. so i would go and find out if there is a short in the line or see if a relay is bad.

2004 Dodge Stratus Fan runs only at #4 position. Where is the relay located

The relay doesn't control the speed, if it was bad you would have no fan. You either need to replace the switch or the fan.

Fuse panel on drive side dash when the door is open, main panel with the relays is under the hood on front drive side.

Hope this helps.

How do you take the dash apart on 2001 dodge stratus ? the fan blower has stopped working and i was told there is a relay under the dash.

dont really have to take the whole dash apart, its on the passenger side above the footwell area it is a blower motor resistor attatched to the housing not too aweful far from your blower motor

2001 dodge stratus want crank

It could be But my guess is it is the safety netural switch could even be a starter you can test it but you need jumper wires with aligator clips, you can try turning on the lights and turn the key switch over and if the lights dim slightly then it means it is making contact and pulling volatage but not starting, if the lights don't dim slightly then it could be the safety netural switch. If you can work with jumper wires and a couple safety stands I can help you test it.

2001 Dodge stratus cruise control dosen't work

One thing to check is the micro switch on the brake pedal arm, I had the same problem.
For some reason the switch came loose and it wasn't being depressed.
All I had to do is re adjust it so it would depress the plunger on the switch when the brake was not applied and activate the switch when the brake pedal was depressed.
I set it to the sensitive side so when you barley tap the brake pedal it shuts off the cruise control.

Hope this helps.

Installed a new radio in a 2001 dodge stratus se dash lights out

Did you try adjusting the dimmer for your dash lights? Did it feel different - like the knob was no longer connected?? If so, try pressing the knob to re-align it up to the threading to properly seat it. Then try turning it all the way to the right, to the brightest setting. Or try turning the other way if there is still no illumination. Make sure you have the key in the ignition and turned on to the same location where your radio, wipers, and all other accessories work (test to make sure they are working before trying the dash lights). And of course, you need to be out of bright sunlight and in an area where you can clearly see when the dash lights come on, even in the event that they come on very, very dim.

So if this all failed, I hate to say it but it means you gotta take apart your dash which usually means numerous other parts that may overlap. Find a good diagram or step-by-step instructions for your particular model. Then it will be a matter of checking the bulb(s) and making sure any of the wires did not become disconnected or damaged...

Good luck. Taking apart your dash to get behind it cant be any more difficult with your Dodge than it was when I had to do it to a Toyota a couple months ago... I had to remove the console between the front seats to remove the auto shifter assembly that overlapped with the bottom section of the dash...
alot of time and effort all for one little bulb replacement.
