how to set up the ring and pinion gear
i am going to set up a set of 411 gears in my 86 camaro and wanted to know what it wear pattern is to be for it is noisy and want to get it set up right . thanks rick

Best Solution
The ring and pinion pattern shoud be in the center of the ring gear. You should have about 2 thousands back lash when properly set up. Paint the ring gear and check for your wear pattern. I use white paint myself and rotate the gear one full turn and check.
