Number one plu wire location on the distributor

On the firing sequence of your spark-plugs is determined by the distributor, but if the spark-plug wires aren't in the right firing order the engine will not run correctly. We are at your disposal, only need: Year, Make, Model, Engine size and Cylinders number.

Car won't start. It turns over and tries to catch but won't go. Have had three fuel pumps replaced, but this does not seem to be the problem this time. A check with a hand held code meter shows it is...

If your Carb. is getting fuel that is not the problem, check the spark plug, while turning over the engine and see if there is a spark emitted from it?? if there is then check the owners manual for the correct firing order, then check to see that each plug wire is going to the correct piston port according to the firing order listed in the manual...once the Carb is getting fuel and the plugs are firing in correct sequence or firing order, it should start ...Good Luck

Spark plug wires

The firing order is 1-3-4-2 and that is how it should be wired.. only then can the engine work correctly.
The front of car is no 1 cylnderand nearst to dashboard is no 4 cylinderand 2 and 3 in the middle.

Spark plug replacement

Just pull hard, it does seem pretty tough, but you won't damage anything as long as its a hard consistent pull. Don't TUG, but pull increasing the pressure until it comes out. It needs to be a snug fit in there to keep debris/moisture etc from getting to your spark plug!
