Question about 1999 Ford Taurus

Can you help with driver door electrical problem?

I have recently changed the drivers door on my 1999 Taurus and my windows do not work. I disconnected the wire harness at the door switches and do not have power at the plugs. the door mirror and locks work just know power to the windows. I also have what may or may not be a related problem with my intirior light and dash lights. Could it be the driver window relay/driver unlock relay or the accessory delay relay? Can you help.

How to take door panel off tom check power window

None of the windows are working? If this is the case, opening the door won't do you any good. Check the fuses first. This could also be caused by a faulty main switch on the driver's door as the others are wired through it for the lockout feature.

If you do not have electrical knowledge, and all the fuses are good, replace the main switch in the driver's door.

Driver side automatic window will not come up but all the other windows are working fine. What is wrong with it?

The electric motor in the door for that window is not working. It is either frozen or broken. Either way it would be best to take it to an automotive shop for repair or replacement.

Detach the door wiring from the connector

This is a two person operation.

  1. Remove the two door check-to-body retaining screws.

WARNING

Cover the end of the check strap to prevent possible paint damage.

  1. On the rear doors, remove the rear door trim panel, detach the electrical connectors from the components (if equipped) and remove the wiring harness from rear door.
  2. On the driver's side front door, disconnect the window regulator wiring, if so equipped, by removing the wire connector cover, loosening the screw and separating the connector halves.
  3. On the passenger side front door, remove the rubber harness protector from the body to reveal the electrical connectors. Detach the two electrical connectors.
  4. If the door is to be replaced, transfer the following components to the new door if in usable condition:
    • Door trim panel
    • Watershield
    • Outside mouldings
    • Trim clips
    • Window regulator
    • Door latch components.
  5. Remove the hinge retaining screws and nuts from the door and remove the door.

To install:

  1. Position the door onto the hinges and hand tighten the screws.
  2. Align the door and tighten the screws to 19-25 ft. lbs. (25-35 Nm).
  3. If removed, install the wiring harness to the rear doors.
  4. Attach the electrical connectors to the door panel.
  5. Install the door panel(s).

1999 Taurus - now windows won't open!!

You have probably blown a fuse. The interior light switch is probably faulty causing the light to stay on and the warning to come up.

Drivers electric window stuck in down position

actually you have thought of all but the prob. The track has jumped, making the motor not move the window. Sometimes you can gently slide the window up by hand and then the motor will catch the track and finish rolling the window up

2003 ford taurus. electric windows not working right, started out the driver side would go down and not up, it still has the same problem but now the other windows do not work at all.

Do the windows not work only from drivers door switch, or the doors themselves?

If from drivers side switch, then you need to replace the window switch or maybe some of the wires came loose. If the windows arent working individually, you have short somewhere, or all your motors went out, which I doubt.

All of a sudden the driver side window will not roll up.

is it electric windows? if it has electric windows does the passenger window roll up using the switch for it on the passenger door panel? if it works on the passenger door panel and not on the driver's door panel , then your switch on the drivers door panel is bad... replace it.
