The seats in my truck do not lock when tilting front to back

fronts are bolted in ,move seat back and forewards to gain access ,rear seats should lift out to turn into a van,,, think you lower back tilt seat then pull a lever or a strap ,my galaxy comes out easy but getting them back in ,,,,so heavy

inside the seat there is a cable to control the tilt back could be cut or unhook

You must remove the motor, move the seat to the desired position and then reinstall the motor to lock the seat in the position.

There are two bolts in the front that are covered with plastic trim and two in the back that may or may not be covered up. Remove them and then tilt seat back and disconnect all electrical connectors, be careful not to break any connector lock tabs,.

YOU HAVE A SWITCH OR A TILT ACTUATOR MOTOR PROBLEM. LINCOLNS HAVE 5 OR 6 ELECTRIC MOTORS MOUNTED ON THE UNDERSIDE OF EACH FRONT SEAT WHICH REQUIRES REMOVING THE SEAT TO INSPECT .THEIR ARE ALSO CABLES ATTATCHED TO THESE MOTORS SO LISTEN WHEN YOU HIT THE TILT SWITCH DO YOU HEAR A MOTOR NOISE? IF YOU DO THEN YOU MAY HAVE A BAD CABLE.

this is a typical problem.. Either the individual motor that operates the back of the seat has gone bad or the bar that connects to the back rest has come off.

There is a lever on the left side by your **** that tilts the seat forward or back. There are knobs on the side that you turn to raise the seat front up or down, there is a handle under the front of the seat that you either pull up or pull to the left to slide the seat front or back. And depending on the seat there might be a lever on the left side of the seat back that controls how much lumbar support.

Same proceedure as front headrests but tilt the back of the seats forward about halfway. Push the little clip in on top of the seat, by the chrome rail, pull the headrest up and slide out of the hole. Push the back of the seat back, lift up the bottom seat and tilt forward. Lay the back seats down. Done.

th seat is held down by four nuts or bolts (2 front 2 rear), varies by model, remove the bolts front and rear, disconnect the lectrical conectors at bottom of seat and remove seat or tilt back to access the seat track.
