Hello. Go to an auto parts store and get two bottles of a fuel tank additive called seafoam. Pour both bottles into the tank. Drive for 5 miles and this will clear any debris out of your fuel injectors and other components that may be causing your problem.

If that alone does not do it, drive to any AAMCO repair shop where they will do a free scan of your truck's computer and let you know what if anything is showing up.

If you do not have an AAMCO shop call a few auto parts stores til you find one that does free scans. Joe.

4 thumbs up please.

My fuel pressure goes to 60 pounds when the keys is turned on then starts dropping Is it my fuel pump or pressure regulator? 2004 GMC Yukon XL

Fuel pressure may drop due to a leaking injector or bad check valve in the fuel pump itself. The regulator does not come into effect until the engine is running and a vacuum supply is produced to it. If the regulator is leaking internally, it could send fuel back to the tank as well. Prime the fuel line and pinch off the return line ( if possible ) to eliminate a regulator problem. If the fuel pressure drops with the return line pinched off, suspect a leaking injector or fuel pump. If injector is leaking, the vehicle should run rich and cause a hard start/rough run condition

2001 GMC Yukon XL idles rough and lacks power code out P0171

P0171 is a lean Oxygen Sensor code. It is trying to tell you that your engine is running lean...not getting enough fuel, or getting too much air. That will cause the poor running and dying. This is most likely caused by a bad vacuum leak. The O2 heater code is probably caused by a failed O2 sensor heater. Sometimes it is caused by an open or short in the O2 sensor circuits, but most of the time it is the sensor itself.

Why does my 1998 gmc truck backfire and stutter sometimes stall when driving

I would suspect a burnt valve. An engine compression test will verify this.
