Remove air filter, warm up engine, plug the IAC port (the small hole in the bottom of throttle body) the adjust idle screw c/wise or anti c/wise to set rpm. REMOVE IAC plug and check the performance. Good luck.
check the position of the idle screw on the throttle linkage and adjust the idle /mixture screw as well as both affect the idle speed . Check for any vacuum leaks before this
you need to adjust your idle screw on your carb i could tell ya how on that type of car but your running to high of an idle and flooding your cylinders thats y it is idleing rough and you can smell the gas, adjust your idle screw back a little and then you might want to check your plugs and make sure you didnt fowl and of them with it running rich
Vacumn leaks will cause a high idle as described..but if its the canister line it will only leak when canister purge solenoid is activated . and will likely not affect idle..When you changed the tps did you set it with a scan tool ?? the tps voltage at closed throttle must be set at .47 volts or a whole bunch of wacky things with the Idle can occur...
Most likely is your idle speed timing, there is either an adjusting screw, or you need the dealership to place a diagnostic tool on there threw the computer to set it down some.
