89 ford e350. Brake pedal hard without booster, soft with. New booster, calipers and master. Problems with bleeding to get hard pedal with engine running

If the truck has RABS, the ABS system needs to be bled.

I Got a 2000 ford expedition i replace front brake pads, calipers brake pedal goes all the way to the floor I replace the booster and master cylinder and the problem don't go away


I would start by bleeding the air out of the brake system starting at the longest line first. Check for fluid in the master cylinder . IF you have problems bleeding then undo the lines at the master cylinder and using your fingers a valves bleed the air out and prime the master cylinder first then bleed the system

Remember to bleed longest brake line first and finish with shortest.

The ABS module has some flow valves in it too. May need to have mechanic test pressure going into and coming out of ABS.

Check for Vacuum pressure in Power Brake Booster.

I change the brake booster and the brake still go all the way to the floor


How did you bleed your brakes or did you even do that? their should be a little nipple on your calipers or even the brake booster to bleed the system.

Booster is okay, you have to bench bleed the MC, first. So, since it is installed, bleed it with a kit from the parts store, little plastic hoses screw in to the brake hose fittings, and put other end under fluid in reservoir. pump slowly, especially wait at end of release, for fluid to refill piston chamber....pump until no bubbles...

FROM THIS POINT you must not allow fluid in reservoir to go low, or start all over again....

Now bleed the brakes and you will eventually get pressure.

Good question, on the antilock system is a bleader too and bleade it the same way you bleade the caliper. After all is done adjust the rear brakes, they should have a drag to them.

Check front calipers, caliper should "float" to be self centering. If the caliper is stuck only the inside pad is pushing on the rotor instead of the caliper pinching the rotor. You will need to remove the caliper from the assembly, there are usually rubber boots to keep out the dirt and water from the slide pins, they are ofter cracked/broken or missing altogether. You may need a small torch and some rustbuster to get things moving again.
