Many times your ignition switch locks due to key. Put key it and move the wheel. It may be difficult at first, but sometimes it locks and the key will not turn.

Yes i have a 2003 chev malibu while i was driving the car shut off , the car cranked and didnt start, then i was acting like the battery was dead nothing happened when i turned the key , then now it cranks...

have scanned if light is on. it sounds like a bad crank sensor. it controls the timing. either that or you may have a bad ignition switch!! if no power from switch, then no start.

Neutral safety switch What is it. Son pulled key out of ignition with the tramission not in park. Can not even turn ignition switch over. Is the neutral safety switch the problem

A neutral safety switch will stop the path of battery power going to the starter motor if the gear shift isn't in park or neutral. I dont believe your issue is here, I would say the ignition lock assembly.

The engine turns over but will not start. the fuel pump is running when you turn the switch on. this is on a 2003 chevy malibu.

the pump may be running dry. It lost it ability to prime itself. Only way to know foresure is to do a pressure test. Or spray quick start. If it starts then then pump is bad. If it does not fire then you have an ignition issue.

I had a similar problem with my Chevy truck. I had to replace the ignition wiring harness. I had to take mine to a mechanic to get it replaced. The switch for your ignition is going out.

My key will not turn the switch in my 2003 Chevy Malibu. Gear shift is locked, but steering wheel is unlocked. Ran and cranked fine yesterday. Could this be a blown fuse?

sometimes when people have to many things on a keychain it can cause wear in the tumblers in the ignition so always have just your car key and remote only on your keyring, but try to mess with the shifter at the same time turn the key ive seen this happen alot.

I have an 03 malibu with 57K or so miles, it has just started stahling out and not starting properly. It will turn over like it wants to start, but wont.????

If the THEFT PROTECTION lamp is blinking, the VATS system has diabled your fuel pump. Turn the ignition switch to ON, leave it on till the lamp stops blinking. Turn the key to the OFF position, start the car.
Most likely you need to have the ignition switch replaced. Malibu and Impala are notorious for this issue.

Malibu 2003

You can have a dealership or auto shop replace the part. It is most likely the switch itself that is faulty. This is a common occurrence in many vehicles.
