SOURCE: I have a 97 Jeep

There should be a switch in the rear latch assembly. This is under the panel inside the rear hatch. Unplug it & the lights should go out. The switch is available from the dealer. I replaced one in a newer model Grand cherokee with the same problem.

SOURCE: My remote key control stopped working, does it

Check the batteries first as all remotes have a battery. You'll either need to unscrew the remote or pry the remote on the side to open it. The hatch should not be tied into your remote not working. Does the hatch open f you use the key. If nothing opens your hatch, your latch mechanism might be screwey

Yes your horn/dome lights use the same fuse as well as there is numerous other circuits that feed off this fuse like radio illumination. If you unplug the new radio does the problem go away? Could be a short in radio which I have seen or maybe pinched a wire when installing radio

My rear hatch stopped working. It happened gradually, sort of like the battery was running out. It's odd because the glass part still pops, but not the door. How do I replace the battery?

Rear wiper, rear defroster & rear wiper fluid all stopped working at the same time. bought a new rear wiper motor installed it and nothing... anyone having or had the same problem in the past?

Check fuse panel ...if fuses for those rear devices are OK look at the wiring at the rear hatch. Possibly inside that door, or a ground condition that is not functioning or disconnected connector related to electrical devices in the rear hatch door.
Good luck!

Just got a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder in relatively good shape. How do I open the rear hatch/tailgate?

Insert your key into the lock and turn the key left to open the hatch, or right to open the window. There is also a small lever by the door latch that locks the hatch when you close it so you don't have to use the key.

2003 Trail Blazer Problem? Not sure if the issues are related but happened with-in a week of clicking noise coming from the rear panel (3rd row) on the passanger side when I started it clicked about 2-3...

To start, these may or may not be related. First off, the clicking noise from the rear is one of the actuators in the rear HVAC unit. It is clicking either because the door it controls is stuck or the gear is stripped.
What wire did you cut to stop the clicking? And did you tape it up to prevent shorting? If that wire is contacting something, it will cause the battery to drain.
The cars dies when you turn on the AC because you need to clean the throttle body. When you replaced the battery you reset the computer, it now has to relearn to the dirty throttle body.

A dash light indicating the rear hatch is open is lit all the time, except if the brake is depressed. This has caused the battery to drain and car has had to be jumped 3 times in less than 3 weeks.Help...

Possible that the wiring harness to the rear is having a short from the hatch door switch to the brake light assembly . It can also be a wrong connections if there was some work done on this area that needed the harness to be rewired. So check this out, remove and reconnect.
use a multimeter to check the drain of the battery to confirm the short when the line is detached.
Please check my link for tips on battery drain.

The electric back hatch stopped working

It may well be a fuse or relay. Look under your hood.
An Integrated Power Module isl ocated in the engine compartment near the battery. This center contains fuses and relays.A label that identifies each component is printed on the inside of the cover.

Look for anything that relates to the rear hatch and see if that is your problem. That's the simplest first step in diagnosing the problem.
