Question about Mitsubishi Pickup

1 Answer

Recently had a New/Refurbished short block & Head change on 54 plate L200 Warrior...2 months later sprung an oil leak, this was corrected by fitting a New Oil pump seal and Crank shaft Oil seal...ran OK for a while then started over heating and is currently using a litre of water a day...Has no obvious signs of water leakage but expansion tank bubbles and water in both radiator & tank is a cloudy grey colour...There is no obvious signs oil loss, but am checking every day...Any help would be appreciated as have now gone back to engine supplier and said this needs to be sorted...but not sure if the problem is there's!!!

Interior lights clock & radio not working, l200

I've had this problem for over a year. This did fix it but slightly different set up in UK models (2005 L200 4Work). Fuse box in driver side footwell has an empty raised fuse block numbered '5' in the manual. Inserting the spare 10amp fuse in this slot bypasses the problem.

What does it mean if there is oil in my coolant reservoir

oil too low!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have some change your oil & filter immediately !!! drain radiator & coolant reservoir , refill w/ fresh 50/50 coolant , white smoke is not exactly a good thing ! it could mean coolant is mixing w/ oil , because of a possible leak from a bad gasket either from intake manifold or head gasket !!! water pump would not cause this ! I would bet on a gasket leak given the age of the car . 2000 ! 13 years old, how was it maintained, intake gaskets are cheaply made, head gaskets are made well ! so, my bet, goes to the intake manifold gasket !!!!!!good luck kristle !

My car recently shut off when i was driving in town. it did not have much oil in it and it had an oil leak i pushed it off the road and put oil in it but the car didn't start. i noticed the antifreeze tank...

Could be several things from radiator ,hoses, water pump, FREEZE PLUGS ,cracked head or block. You need to find out where the coolant is coming from to determine it.
If the car was hot and you poured fluid in it the block, head or head gasket could crack. If it was cold and you just had watr in it the block could crack or freeze plugs could have came out.

most likely a blown head gasket between a coolant passage and an oil passage not a cylinder . when coolant gets into a cylinder is when you will see the white smoke and the smell.

Mitsubishi L200 overheating

i have an l200 animal, i started getting the same symptoms, bubbling noises, over heating, water being discharged into the header tank, i had a good look around the engine, there was no oil in the water or water in the oil ( signs of head gasket failure) when the radiator cap was off and i revved hard nothing happened, no dip in water levels and no splashing out. i took the water pump off and the impellor had sheered off the shaft. fitted a new pump and its been fine, maybe all these cracked cylinder heads and warped heads are to do with the engine being run with the fault not being cured.
