Try unhooking it overnight to see if it's a short in the car or the battery. If unhooking it stops the drain, look for a short in the car.

About once every 2 to 3 weeks car won't start. Battery appears dead. Then next day fine. Battery holding charge, not starter either. Baffe

If the battery appears dead when the fault occurs, it probably is the battery (or pos/neg leads) batteries are devious and take pleasure in appearing fully charged. Eliminate further by replacing battery, buy or borrow. Only other explanation is a short to negative on particular day, check starter motor cables. Best of luck.

1996 Geo Metro LSI 1.3L Has issues starting. It cranks but won't turn over just replaced it March 2 2013

Check your battery connections at the starter. It may not be getting the needed volts. Just make sure they're clean and tight at the starter and the battery both. Good luck!

I just replaced my starter, alternator, and my battery in my 97 lincoln continental it was running fine until the other day now it won't attempt to turn over, I was able to shake it to get it started...

There should be a solenoid/regulator on the firewall that's connected to battery wires (possibly $13 part), and starter wire..a tap on that like you would a starter when it gets stuck; unless it's built in with your alternator or generator...the only other thing I can think of, is that you have a loose connection, or a bad item/rebuilt item? Starter and alternator new? A place like Sears Auto or a mechanic who has a computer to check charging system could give a better idea...good luck..

Car won't start without being charged and when it sits overnight it wont start. makes a clicking noise when trying to start it

Battery is to weak & not holding charge. If the battery does not have enough power the starter will make a fast clicking sound or you will just hear one click.

System wont keep battery charged..alternator was checked and is ok

System working well and charging the battery, then that means most likely the battery has one or more bad cells and can't HOLD a charge. It may seem fine but it's not what it seems. Good Luck

2004 ford expedition charging system failed?

Sounds like battery not holding charge. Or a light staying on, boot or glovebox? Most likely battery tho.

Car won't start and the battery is fine. I think

You could be right, a quick test to see if it the switch or starter would be to have someone hold the key in the crank postion with clutch pedal down and see if the small wire at starter has power, if it has power then its not the clutch switch but rather the starter itself. or you can unplug the safty switch and jump the connector and see if it starts, if it does then its the switch if not then it could be the starter, check starter for power as i listed above and if theres power replace the starter. hope this is helpful. good day.
