Question about 2000 Ford Expedition

ROUGH ACCERATION When I'm driving at about 50 mph the suv hesitates. Now it's doing it even at low speed. Can you please tell me what the problem/problems may be and the estimated cost to repair it. Thank you

I had the same problem! check your spark plugs and if you have a scan tool check your firing order. You may have a misfire. I ultimately changed out the coil pack on cylinder 6 and its running sweet now. You also may want to clean down the intake mainfold and that sensor. I've got 133K on my expy and she's still running!

Pickup hesitates when strarting off, has a miss while driving at constant speed. If it were and 50 or 60 model I would think the timing was off.


Check the gap on your spark plugs and also check the resistance of the wires - a low resistant wire will do this at take off and around 40 mph

Sounds like low fuel pressure. i.e. fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, or fuel filter.

1989 Dodge Ram 50 Pickup ..Hesitating and running rough when in gear.


Maybe just bad gas. Change fuel filter, Add some fuel conditioner to it, or fuel treatment,with moisture remover, and top it up with fresh fuel.
