Originally nether front or aft control switch would turn on the rear blower. The mechanic said the found a chaff wire under the center console and fixed it. 2 days later a fuse blew. They replaced it and a few more days it blew again. This time they replaced the blower and the next day another fuse blew. From what I can find out this fuse #7 only goes to Relay 114, which supplies up to 30 amp to the rear blower. Is this correct?
If so, (I do not have a schematic) the fuse is only in line with the switches and Relay 114. The aft blow motor is not on the same circuit as Fuse 7 and cannot be causing the problem with the fuse blowing, since it only energizes Relay 114.
Any suggestions or source for a wiring diagram? Thanks in advance! John
Hi,
Your local auto parts store should have or be able to get the HAYNES Manual for the Expedition. I just bought one at Advanced Auto Parts to deal with a different A/C problem with my 2000 Expedition and it has great wiring diagrams & troubleshooting for the A/C among other problems.
The 2000 Expedition actually has "3" blowers. One front, one in the middle under the center console and one aft on the drivers side of the far rear panel. Sounds like it could be the center blower that's causing your problem. I think that blower is on Fuse 7. (Sorry - My Hayes manual is outside in the truck!)
Good luck! I hope it helps!
