Your sending unit in the tank is bad and needs to be replaced. There is a short in it. That is the only thing that can go wrong with it. There is probley a broken wire on it so it wont read right.

I have same car 1989 honda crx, what worked for car was I took the Idle Air Control Valve ( IACV ) off and cleaned it with carb cleaner. What you will need is a 12mm socket and only has two screws, and pliers to take off two small hoses attached to it.. And most important carb cleaner to clean the inside of IAVC. Plus you can also search for this on the Internet ...1989 honda crx Idle Surges! Hope this helps...

I topped my fuel and the light is still blinking and the gauge didnt rise up to full anymore. it just stayed down. why? 1ts a 2008 honda accord. american spec and has done just 8000miles

Well you need a new full gauge kit. It is located inside your fuel tank just behind the passenger seat held down by 2 size 10 bolts.
Before getting a new gauge kit, have you checked all the fuel system wirings and they are OK?

The fuel injectors are leaking at the top where the injectors connect to the fuel rail,or the seals are bad where the injectors go in the engine.

check your wiring for dirty connections or broken wires, you may have wires that are rubbed through or connectors that are not making full contact. you will need an ohm meter and check wires for continuity. a wiring diagram will be needed.

1989 Honda CRX won't start after a short trip.

Easy one. This is a common problem on 88-91 Civics and CRX's.Check your main relay under the drivers side dash.It provides power to the ECU,fuel pump, and injectors. Its a squarish box with a single plug going into it held on by one 10 mm bolt. The solder joints break down over time and cause the condition you're having. You can pry off the plastic cover and resolder the joints if you are handy with a soldering iron,or just ask for a main relay at Autozone, etc.
