If you look under the car between the rear axle and the fuel tank you should see the charcoal canister. The vent solenoid should be attached to the side of it.

I hope you didn't overfill your tank.. raw fuel into the vent valve in the filler neck will generally screw it up.. this causes no pressure to build in the tank and it assumes that it because of a gas cap leak... this is one possible reason

Leaking gas tank on 06 pontiac g6 gt

This is something that is hard to answer without looking at your vehicle.I have seen some of these leak around the filler neck spout at the tank and others leak at the fuel level/pump module. or it is possible ran over something. either way if you have a gas leak it is not safe to drive. if experienced look at tank and see where leaking if running down from the top it is most likely the fuel module(pump) hope this helps some

My 2005 Pontiac G6 has the check engine light on and I was told it was the vent solenoid. Where is this on the car and is it hard to replace yourself?

Hi, the vent solenoid is next to the vapor canister by the fuel tank. It has one hose connected to the top of the tank and one connected to the canister. I have pasted a pic of the vent valve below.

I need to change the fuel filter on my 06 Pontiac G6 GT. My problem is all the autopart stores that i have been to say they don't stock them because it's too new of a car. Where can I purchase one? Also...

there is no fuel filter on the car. the fuel is filtered by the fuel pump in tank. most newer vehicles are this way. the dealers say the filter never has to be changed. but if you want, you can buy a fuel fiter and cut the fuel line, and use 2 hoses to connect it. if not i would say to use a good gas cleaner or injector fluid at least 1 or2 times a month. to keep system clean. the filter in the tank will run about 75.00 or more to drop the tank, at dealership or depending on what garage does this. good-luck!! if it lacks power, check egr valve and or clean maf sensor.

There are anywhere from 3 to 4 vent, defrost, temperature control solenoids in the suitcase or under dash area. What it sounds like is that one of your solenoids which is electronic and is gear driven has a tooth gear where several teeth are broken and the gear cannot complete the cycle that is selected from the control panel. If it is the vent you are trying to open or close, then it is the vent solenoid that needs to be replaced. Bet to go on line to u-tube, in your brouser select your vehicle year, make, model and include 'changing vent solenoid'. You will get several video giving exact detail on how to check for a bad solenoid and then how to change it.

Would just like t know where the fuel filter on my 2006 Pont. G6 GT is located, I would like to replace it.

You didn't state what size engine you have. The filter is round in shape, if it isn't under the car near the gas tank, then it is inside the gas tank, Which I think is a stupid place for general motors to put it.

On the passenger side of the car there it a canister next to the gas tank (right infront of the rear wheel) it's right there. You don't need to pull the wheels to access it.

You will need to replace the filler neck. If you can't fill the tank the flap must be stuck in the vent line.
