A diagnostic check at autozone said it was the speed sensor. Where is the speed sensor located on Jeep Grand Cherokee 1998 5.2?

Has to be on the back of the trans. Output Speed Sensor
Hope you can get it out, without lowering the trans,to clear the floor pan

Put that into your search engine and find what you need.
Sorry I can't give you the exact location down to the inch

Now hope you have a bad sensor
Codes don't tell you, that it is bad,or to replace it

I would drive the vehicle with a scanner on it ,and look at data, or run off the ground, and back probe with a meter or oscilloscope, to test. ( I know you can't do that)

CANT FIND WHERE THE SPEED SENSOR IS NO MY 1995 OLDSMOBILE AURORA

hi , their is two different speed sensors on your vehicle one is the input speed sensor which is inside the transmission and the transmission will have to be removed to replace it the other one s the output speed sensor is located directly above the passenger side trans-axle shaft. your input sensor is the sensor which tells the transmission when to shift and the output speed sensor tells the speedometer what it should display and both those parts are fairly cheap they are around 15-25 dollars but just remember if your input speed sensor is bad it is gonna cost you a minimum of 1000 dollars to have a mechanic fix as the transmission needs to be removed hope this is what you needed

The speedometer is not working and the trans. seems like it's not going into 2nd

computer diagnostic will give you codes to repair vehicle better but sounds like you need to replace Vehicle Speed Sensor (Output Speed Sensor) On a 31TH TRANS sensor located near the transaxle extension housing, on the 41TE trans located between the module and the park/neutral switch (black)

Crysler 300m 2 gear jaming...

When a chrysler overdrive goes into second gear it indicates there is a problem There is no way to tell you what it needs. It has to be scanned to determine what is going on. There are input and output speed sensors, shift solenoids, PRNDL switch, neutral switch and improper clutch pack clearance internally as well as major internal failure.

Again it has to be scanned. Hope it is one of the speed sensor.. Just in case since they do fail often, the input speed sensor is located closer to the motor at 9 o'clock facing the back side of the trans and the output speed sensor is located near the back of the trans at the same position.

Hope this helps. (Auto Zone and Advance will usually scan for free.)

Replace speedometer cluster on my '95 Honda Accord DX

I would have the trans speed sensor checked before removing dash assembly. The speed sensor is an analog sensor that sends a signal to the dash. It is located near the trans output shaft attached to housing with a small bolt. It is gear driven and quite easy to get at. It is also subject to heat and road conditions, makeing this the prime culprit in speedo problems. Hope this helped. Moe
