What type of oil does a 1996 Chevrolet C/K 2500 take?

When this car was new things like 5/30 were unheard of, as was fully synthetic oils,at least at a price that "normal" people could afford.Use 10/40,and change it every 10k/annually, if you start to use oil at a fast rate you could go to 20/50 but only for about a year before you recycle it or get the engine rebuilt.

Need to know where the fill plug is for the rear differential

generally if it's not on the rear cover, you will find it on the front of the center section (a 1/2" square plug, either male or female)
