Help 2008 ford fusion heater and ac stopped working

1) TEST the fuse+ relar of a/c
see the next steps and fix it. God bless you
If so, the compressor is working and the A/C system probably contains enough refrigerant to make cold air, so the problem is inside the HVAC unit. Replace the motor that controls the blend air door (this is a difficult job and best left to a professional since it involves tearing apart the HVAC unit -- about an 8 to 10 hour job!).
If the compressor does not engage when you turn on the A/C, see if it will run by jumping the compressor clutch wire directly to the battery (use a fused jumper wire). If the compressor works when you jump it, and the A/C blows cold air, the system contains refrigerant and the fault is likely a bad A/C compressor clutch relay or a bad clutch cycling switch or pressure switch.
If the compressor does not engage when you jump it, the problem is a bad compressor clutch.
If the clutch engages but the compressor does not turn (the belt will start to slip and squeal), the compressor is locked up and you need a new compressor.
If the compressor clutch engages and turns the compressor, but the A/C still does not blow cold air, the system is probably low on refrigerant and needs to be recharged

A/c clutch not working. Is the clutch replaceable

Your clutch will not work if the 'fluid' level is low. This is designed to protect the compressor.
Was your air cold before it stopped?
You can buy a pressure gauge and new coolant at most stores for around $20. Make sure it's the right coolant.
The clutch CAN be changed without replacing the compressor.

A/C stopped turning on. Now will sporadically turn on but wont stay on. Is it the compressor?

The AC uses a cycling clutch/orifice tube sustem, it must cycle on and off or the system would freeze up and fail. This system takes a trained specialist to make sure everything is working correctly. It is the pressures that the system is at, at the time of clutch on and off, that makes the difference. Is your system making cold? You may not have any problem at all.

Our church has a 2000 Ford E-450 25 passenger mini-bus. The a/c works sporadically and at times, makes a clicking sound. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the A/C clutch maybe making the noise. You may need the A/C serviced, it could be low on Freon, or the A/C clutch is going bad.

2000 ford taurus ac question: air conditoner works for a short time and starts to blow warm air. This is when the temperature reads hot on the temperature gauge. This occurred on a freeway with the outside...

your electric a/c clutch is wearing out. You have to remove compressor to replace the a/c clutch mounted on the compressor.

If you can get someone to shim it out a little bit, it would work ok. Call a few indpenedent shops and ask if they can shim it and how much it would cost.

Just say, I need to have the clutch on my a/c compressor shimmed so my a/c clutch clamps tighter. 2000 Taurus. How much to do that?

I would guess $100 max.

Otherwise, you need to have clutch & field coil assembly replaced. Around $300 - $350.

Here is a picture of the compressor with clutch mounted on front.

A/C sporadic compressor. Bypassed high and low with paper clip. Pressures good has Freon. Clutch tests OK. Vehicle runs for maybe 10 min or some times 30 then A/C shuts down. Maybe A/C will fire up...

This is just a suggestion but you should check to see if you have a thermostatic control switch in your evaporator this could be the cause if the intermittent problem. The switch is actually used tokeep your ac from freezing up i believe.
