My 98 intrigue has been pissing through 3 gallons of coolant a week. I put bars stop leak stuff and it seemed to work fine, until yesterday. My temp reading was in the middle although my car was smoking. Opened my hood and antifreeze was everywhere on the passenger side, and ground. Any thoughts?

That happened to my 98 Oldsmobile Intrigue last summer. It was a failed upper intake manifold that had to be replaced (if you don't, the engine can blow). It cost me $286.00 before tax at a GM dealership in Iowa. Here's another waning, your Invicta also has a lower manifold gasket that should be checked very regularly if the upper has gone. They can fail before you really notice coolant leaking, so if you're warned by a mechanice that it's going, do it immediately. It's less expensive than replacing the motor. Best wishes. 3-29-2013 Mine is now humming along and I'm going to keep it until it's a dinosaur.

Check to make sure all the hoses are intact, and tighten all the hose clampe.if that doesnt work, you need to bring it to a mechanic and get a pressure test done on it
