There are varieties of coolant out there that are orange, this in no way means you have a blown headgasket.

Unfortunately orange could be very close to "rusty brown" so it could be old water that has started rusting you cooling system.

    So for headgasket
    1) is the car running hotter than usual on the guage?
    2) if you idle the car at the lights then accelerate does steam and water come out of the exhaust?
    3) check inside your oil cap and dipstick, is there a milky white substance on there?

Engine oil mixing into coolant

The only place, oil and water share a gasket is the cylinder head gasket, oil and water galleries run through the engine block and head via the head gasket. The cylinder pressure will be OK, it's the oil pressure that's putting the oil in the coolant, the gasket has gone between the water and oil galleries or there is an internal crack (unlikely). A coolant pressure test should show it up.

You have an over heat problem. Check the radiator cap for correct operation. have a cooling pressure test done for cracked head / gasket. Do a compression test done for head gasket failure.

you should have the cooling system pressure tested and inspected for a leak that may only show up under could be a slow leak from the water pump, frost plug, head gasket which wouldn`t show up in the oil, heater sounds like a small leak but this is the best way to start to find it.

I've had to fill my coolant 3 times this week.. I've put about 500ml in on monday, wednesday and friday. If i do not do this then my truck will overheat. I took it in on monday and the mechanics...

Sounds to me like the head gasket could be leaking not to the ground, but to the cylinder. Is there white smoke at any time indicating water/coolant is making its way to the cylinder? If so, then the head gasket does have a leak. Maybe try some head gasket repair for $30 from Bar's Leaks at Advance Auto or Autozone to try to seal it without removing the head. If that doesn't work, then a new head gasket may be the solution for this case.

Another possible site of leakage is a radiator cap that has a weak spring and doesn't hold 15 psi or so pressure. When the technician pressure tested the system, it's likely they took the cap off for the leakdown test and replaced it with the pressure tester gauge and pump. Also, check the overflow tank to see if it has a pinhole leak in it. If there is a small leak there, then that could explain the loss of coolant.

Is there a smell of antifreeze/coolant after the car is shut off? If there is, there is likely a leak somewhere.

Overheating bubbleling in resevoir

bubbling into the overflow may mean a head gasket is gone, it may also mean the radiator or thermostat is blocked. or there is a leak
Clean and flush radiator, check the radiator fins for corrosion
pressure test coolant system
(if this is ok then)
new thermostat
new coolant

Is a blown head gasket the only reason my oil could be milky

Hello and yes. Your coolant is mixing with the oil causin the milky color. Keep a eye on your coolant level its going to drop due to bad gasket. Hope this is helpful

if you're adding's leaking somewhere. Have the cooling system pressure tested. if no visible leak, it's probably leaking internally (head gasket). very expensive to fix

2006 Equinox over-heating

There is a few things that could course your car to be over heating

  • Air In Cooling System
  • Coolant Leak
  • Water Pump Failure
  • Head Gasket Failure
These are some of the common problems as your car is reasonable new i would't think the head gasket has gone it is more then likely what you say that the water pump is broke probably the impaler has broken off. To bleed the system you need to get it up to running temperature and remove the bleed screws in the cooling system starting from the highest one working down then back up. If you find it is hard to bleed and no coolant is being pushed out it is more then likely that the water pump has gone. To test if the head gasket has gone take off the oil cap and look for a mayo type gunk around it if there is then this means that water is getting into the oil system meaning the head gasket has gone another test is to use a spacial liquid that test for exhaust gases in the coolant system.
