Automatic fuel door release will not function, how do I use the tool called "Fuel Door Release Manual Override"? Also how do I go about fixing the automatic release?
Actually there is release lever inside the trunk on the same side as fuel door. SHOULD BE A THIN CABLE ON THE SAME SIDE AS THE FILLER DOOR IS,IF ITS MISSING ALL YOU HAVE TO DO GET TO THE INSIDE OF THE FENDER WELL AND LOCATE THE RELEASE LEVER.

The fuel door release latch for a Holden Barina 2 door hatch auto 2005 is typically located on the driver's side of the vehicle, near the bottom of the dashboard.
To access the fuel door release latch, you will need to look for a lever or button that is labeled with a fuel pump icon or the word "Fuel". Once you locate the latch, simply pull or press it to release the fuel door and access the fuel filler cap.
If you are having trouble locating the fuel door release latch, you can refer to the owner's manual for your vehicle or consult a mechanic or dealership for assistance.
Fuel Fill Door Description and Operation
The fuel door latch actuator shares the circuit with the driver door latch assembly. The body control module (BCM), upon receipt of a lock switch lock or unlock signal, will switch the appropriate door lock actuator, as well as a fuel filler door release actuator control circuits to battery positive voltage. The opposing side of the door lock and fuel filler door release actuators is connected to ground by the I/P fuse block through the other door lock actuator control circuit and the doors, along with the fuel filler door release, will lock or unlock as commanded.
Circuit/System Testing
Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the fuel door release actuator.
Test for less than 1 ohm between the control circuit terminal 1 and ground.

If greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance.
Test for less than 1 ohm between the control circuit terminal 2 and ground.

If greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance.
Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal 1 and control circuit terminal 2.
Ignition ON, command the doors to LOCK and UNLOCK by using the door lock switch. The test lamp should illuminate while commanding the LOCK and UNLOCK states.
?‡'
If the test lamp remains OFF during either command, test either control circuit for a short to ground.
If all circuits test normal, test or replace the fuel door release actuator.
I don't have a KIA but my car's auto fuel accesss door can be manually released from the trunk. Open the trunk and pull down the inside panel on the side of the fuel access door. My car has a green pull cable that will release the door. Try and find it. They must have provided a manual release for situations like that. G
the fuel door release should be located on the driver door or beside the driver seat. there is alsoa manual override cable located under the carpet near the fuel door in the trunk.
release the pressure firs like take gas cap off there are some speacil tools called quick release tools some people just use a small screwdriver to pop it off it should be on driver side by the drivers door under neath the car if its a four door this driver door im talking about
You can get to the latch through the trunk. In the trunk, pull theliner away from the area adjacent to the fuel door. You'll see a blackcable that goes to the fuel door latch behind a metal frame. Reach inand turn the latch mount 90 degrees to release it from the fuel doorframe. Your fuel door will now be open.

The fuel filler door release is the black button at the front of the center console storage compartment.
If your fuel filler door release won’t operate, there is a manual release tab. The tab is located against the upper trim in the rear compartment on the driver's side.
There probably is. My 99 Audi A4 has a release cable in the trunk. It's behind the trunk lining above the filler neck. Mine's red for easy identification - just pull it and it pops the gas door. While it's open, spray the lock with some white lithium grease or PB Blaster, and work it in. It may be that the latch is just sticky and those should clear up its operation.
