can't you find a manitenance charger that plugs into the lighter socket? The Ford GT wensie talks about a good one all the time. Not sure how it hooks uo though.
HI, to locate the battery you need to open the boot/ trunk then look on one of the sides you should see a panel will pull open giving you access to the battery, from what i can remember its on the right hand side in the trunk/boot, have a look you should be able to find it now you know where you are looking.

I have had a corroded rotor or badly worn contacts inside the distributor cap. Lightly sanding takes care of that and making sure the wires are all tight to plugs.
