Check lockout switch on brake pedal lever. See if brake lights work. Switch on brake pedal lever could be broken or moved.

You may have burnt starter solenoid contacts, do you hear a click when you try to start engine? If so the problem is the starter.

SOURCE: 2001 pontiac sunfire wont start

I have had the exact same problem. There is an ignition lock that probably went off. There is a fuse box under the hood. The fuse that says ignition on it pull it out and put it back in. This should reset the ignition lock. Its a safety feature because the car thinks that someone was trying to tamper with it.

SOURCE: anti theft system

The chip is in the key. Either the key has lost it's program or the transceiver is not recognising the key. Try another key if you have one.

SOURCE: want start

Sounds as if you have a burnt "fusible link". Check your wires from the starter to the battery, and then to the fuse box.

USE LOAD CELL TO TEST BATTERY.
CONSIDER CLEANING BATTERY CONNECTIONS. COULD BE STARTER. TRY JUMPER/ BOOSTER STARTING TO SEE IF HIGHER VOLTAGE
MIGHT WORK. CONNECTION AT THE STARTER FROM BATTERY COULD BE LOOSE.

My 2005 R51 Nissan Pathfinder Ti wont start

the clicking indicates that the battery is dead or flat. The only test is with a load tester. For a battery to fail quickly especially in cold weather indicates that it was on the way out.

Car has power but wont start

Assuming it is not the anti-theft system, the problem could be the neutral safety switch, starter, or key switch among other things.
Someone would need to check for voltage at the starter.

I have seen issues like this on other Honda's and the problem turned out to be the ignition starter switch. Do this, jumper power directly to the starter solenoid trigger wire and see if the engine cranks.

1993 Honda accord, the battery is good but when i try to start it it wont turn over. The alternator is good and all my fuses are good, why wont it turn over? Should i get a new starter?

To begin with, turning over means different things to different people.
Does the engine crank but not start, or not crank at all ?
If it cranks but does not start, Honda cars are known to have weak fuel pump relays which would need to be tested.

My 2001 Impala wont start, battery reads good on an amp meter as well as the alternatior, when key is placed in the ignition all bells and whistles blow but car wont start.

What are you using to "read" the battery? A multi-meter, perhaps? A battery can show 12 volts on a multi-meter and still not have enough voltage to start a car. The voltage will be adequate to operate most electrical functions but inadequate to crank the car. If you hear a clicking sound when you turn the key, the starter is not getting enough voltage.
You should have the battery "load tested." Most auto parts places do this at no charge.

Car will not start when key is turned to start position Battery is at Full charge and the idiot lights come on what is the problem I think it is a faulty switch but I'm just quessing, would that be a...

Turn ON headlights and try to start car.

Headlights stay lit, no change in brightness means an open relay.
Start car in Neutral, or move gear shift in and out of Park and try to start in Park; otherwise it is the ignition relay switch or the starter solenoid.

Headlights dim slightly: Low battery charge

Headlights dim significantly or shut off completely: Battery cable connections are really dirty. Remove cables from battery and clean cable clamps and battery posts. You may not need to boost to start.

Hope this helps!
