Flip up headlights

The bloody things pop up but won't pop back down. I can screw them down using the manual control on the headlight frame. but they don't go down when the lights are turned off. this is the model with the seperate button on the dash to pop them up as well as the auto lift when the lights are turned on.

Hi I have the same problem with my 1991 Mazda 323f, the lights won't go up and down and the main lights won't come on. All the fuses have been checked. I checked the voltage between the battery and the fuse box and it was OK, but between the fuse box and the lights, almost no voltage. What could be the answer to this problem?

Everything was fine - the car is owned by my mother now who we gave it to. She doesn't drive much but this last weekend her brother came over and drove it several hundred miles to and from friends and so on. Then last night the lights would turn off but not go down. All fuses ok. I tried to describe where the manual button in the car is - from recollection on right of steering wheel but I'm sure he tried that too. At least the lights work when turned on. Any further ideas? It is a 1990-1 323 F model.

My headlights pop up when turned on but there each one goes up and down independently of one another. If I turn the car off and restart it usually fixes itself
