Check everything that is connected to a vacuum line, check the CAT and the injectors and last run a compression test.

About the only thing you can do is take it to a qualified DEQ specialist and have them take a look at it. It might be something as simple as a hose, or not.

MIL/Check Engine Light will not come on during start up to pass smog 2000 Ford Mustang

There should be a 10amp fuse in the fuse box for the instrument panel that powers the light. The light is grounded by the computer.
Have you checked the fuses in the passenger compartment ?

My 1990 Jeep Cherokee Lorado, with 103,000 miles failed the smog test. It failed the 15 miles per hour and 25 miles per hour test non the DYNO. The tech? ran the motor to the most outrageous REVING, that...

its most likely a catalytic converter issue. they are usually only good for 10 years, mileage has no bearing on their lifespan. the precious metals inside wear out over time, not miles. in many parts of the country where we dont have smog tests most folks dont even know they have a failed converter untill the dang thing falls off the car.

I went to a licensed smog test shop today and they said that my vehicle failed because of this code. This is in state of California. Pleas help!

Well yea. The ck engine light is telling you that you exceed 1.5 pollution limit. can you get the code and tell me what it is. If the ck was on when you get there yes they run the vehicle then fail it under function test. If it comes on during the test then no you dont fail but they are not allowed to turn it off. And plus your in california $ 4.50 a gallon whenever that light is on its $ 4.50 in the air

1985 Ford F-150 Failed Smog - Gas tank failed pressure test.

Basically what he does is pressurizes the tank and all the lines up to the charcoal cannister.
Anywhere from the hose from the filler neck to the tank could be cracks or loose clamps.

The top of the tank has a seal for the fuel pump and rollover valves. These are rubber and could be leaking.

Under the hood you will see the charcoal cannister inbetween the radiator and engine on the passenger side. The hose could be unplugged or cracks. Or the cannister may of failed. The cannister is unseviceable
except for the valve thats on it if it has one.
You could spend a couple hours trying to find the problem especially if it on top of the tank.

What the shop will do is pressurize the tank again and with the smog machine sniffer they can stick it where you can't access to see if it can smell fumes.
Takes a shop 10 minutes to find the area if you want to know.

1996 Nissan Maxima GXE Fail Smog Check Due To ECM System Failure

There is no way to fix this issue according to my Nissan Dealer Service Manager. The monitors will not run and therefore the vehicle will not pass smog. If you need assistance from California's SMOG authority they are called "The Referee" and you can call them at 1-800-622-7733.
