1997 2.5 td...Loss of power after 2000 rpm...Possible cause No 1 injector sensor been wet..Also air flow meter..Unfortunateley no codes were stored for this fault...

Exactly the same problem after cleaning the engine with water. Went away for a week and then back again. Have dried and Q20 'ed (water displacer) the socket. Still no joy - recon the sensor may have gotten damaged. New on is riduculously expensive (in South Africa).

My 1998 2.5td grand cherokee has the same problem, have replaced mass air flow meter @ cost of £150.00(nice) but still the same problem, no codes when plugged in will try replacing number 1 injector sensor, seems bit of coinsidense as my mechanic steam cleaned engine only 1 week previous to this fault hopefully this will cure it, any one know cheap place to buy injector sensors??

Try the Mass Airflow Sensor. Clean it first then consider replacement. I have the same problem and am desperate to overcome it. If you happen to have found a solution please could you or anyone contact me. Thank you.

Seems like you might have wet the no 1 injector sensor..(little black plastic thing with 2 wires) It sends a pulse back to ecu and if wet it,s no good....

No Needles Move!

I have the same year and model cherokee and I spent 600 for them to find the problem which turned out to be a short in the wiring harness. It would probably cost you much less than that if you tell them that it's a short in the wiring harness when you bring it in and they won't charge you for troubleshooting time or to hook it up to a computer to read codes

Oil pressure gauge 2000 jeep cherokee sport 4.0 6cyl.

It's probably the oil pressure switch. I have to replace min every 5 years or so because it does the same thing. Mine is mounted next to the filter on my '93. It's a little black thing with a plug in the end. You can get one at autozone for about $40.
