Question about 1998 Lexus Gs 400
How do I replace the master power window control unit on my 1998 Lexus GS400. Or better yet how do I correctly remove the drivers door interior panels to access the power window control.

Without proper electrical diagnostic equipment and based on the very through description that you gave I would suggest getting a new switch. I say a new switch because on the drivers side the switch is one giant junction block. I have the same vehicle and had my door panel off for some locking issues.
I have attached a link to Ford Direct. The part that you are looking for is Window switch, explorer, 4 door, right

sets below the intake manifold and takes about 5 hours to replace even if you are handy with cars it is a big job to take on.after doing over 50 or more for an old recall it still takes me about 2 hours to complete.

at the bottom and top of the switch there are retaining tabs. you can try to pop it out at those points with a flathead screw driver, but it is sometimes easier to just remove the door panel to get it out.
