Question about 1994 Isuzu Rodeo

1 Answer

Alternater? I've checked the belts and tighten them already. It's not the belts. I've asked someone else and he said it was the alternater. He said the bearings are bad. If that is true would that cause the squealing and would it still charge my battery?

If the alternator bearibgs are noisy yes it will make noise and charge at same time
some times you antifreeze or coolant is drop to belts they squeal for ever but easy way to find this or if the belt is the noise
spray some lubrican't like wd- 40 and if noise stop then belt is the problem

My alternater light has come on my vw passat is it the belt or the alternater itself?help

If the alternater light has come on in the car that means that the alternater is bad and you need to replace. You can also have it checked at your local auto parts store if you would like.

Good luck

How do i fit the fan belt to my fiat granda punto its a 2007 1.4

WORKING FROM THE FRONT; YOU NEED A SIZE 17 SOCKET ON A TBAR.THE ALTERNATER IS ON DRIVER SIDE AT THE BACK.THERE ARE THREE BOLTS TO LOOSEN (DONT TAKE THEM RIGHT OFF) . PULL THE ALTERNATER TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE CAR, SLIP BELT OVER CRANK PULLEY THEN OVER ALTERNATER PULLEY .LEVER ALTERNATER BACK TO TIGHTEN BELT,THEN RETIGHTEN 3 BOLTS

HOPE IT WORKS

When i turn on the heater/defrost, my voltmetet drops well below 12, usually around 9 volts if i have the headlights on. i recently replaced the alternator. The problem existed before the alternator...

it is very possible that your alternater has a bad ground or your belt is to loose put a new ground on the alternater and tighten or replace the belt if its loose tht should do it also your regulater might be bad check that.

Replaced battery after car sat for 1 year. battery idiot light comes on when vechle idles falls below 2 rpm

hi, if the battery light is lighting up then this indicates the battery isnt charging properly so what you need to do now is check that the alternater belt is tighten correctly and not slipping check all wires going to the alternater if they are ok then the chance are the alternater needs replacing.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

I have a squeal and we changed the alternater belt and it still squeals. we have also tightened the alternater bracket. can you tell me what else it might be. thanks

My friend;
Try this;
  1. Check the belt pulley may have loose bolts (Nuts), etc.
  2. Check the three belts, them selves for deteriorations, tears, glazing {like glass shapes}, etc.
  3. If your car has a timing belt instead of timing chain, normally it's either inside the front of the engine or the out side under some type of cover.
  4. Could be also, one of the pulleys hub bearings.
  5. Check & make sure none of the moving fans' blades touching the fan frames.

Try it, & PLZ; let me know if I add any benefits to you.
I hope I add some thing valuable to you.

This SOUNDS as if (1.) A BELT is TOO LOOSE or (2.) you have BEARINGS that are FAILING in One of the PULLEYS the CHECK for this is as Fallows
With ALL BELTS REMOVED you Need to SPIN ALL Pulleys and LISTEN for ABNORMAL NOISE such as A Humming Sound the Pulley with the ABNORMAL SOUND when SPUN WILL BE The Problem,
