Question about 2007 Audi Q7 4.2 FSI

Audi Q7 nav disc

We are searching for a nav dvd for our Audi Q7 MMI system with australian maps on it. Our dealer charges too much ($850) for one. The old one is damaged and it's so annoying not having the system working any more.
Thanks,
Steve

Yes, that's easy to follow. It's just that the disc costs $850 from the dealer. Any ideas where to get the disc for a better price?

SOURCE: Serious problems with my AUDI Q7 (56) 3.0 TDI SLine MMI and more!

I'm not sure if I have any good advice for you, but my 2007 Q7 4.2 is having the EXACT same MMI issues. Nothing works. The radio is stuck on one satellite channel and cuts out every second. No nav, no CD, not bluetooth. Audi is saying it is MY fault. That I spilled liquid on the instrument panel and dial. That DID not happen, so we are now in the "prove it" stage.

Try to reset it as per MMI manual. The reset procedure is as follows:--- press SETUP, BIG KNOB and top right soft button together.Make sure you press them simultaneously. When done right, the MMI screen will go blank, then show the MMI booting logo and return to the menu finally.Check fig below for which button to press:-- helpmech_42.jpg

Hi my MMI system on 2004 A6 asgone dead, no power

No solution, same problem, but had many strange moments: 4 months ago during 100 kms or so it stopped, then suddenly came back, and worked ever since. A few days ago, it started happening again: NAV stuck, then radio dead, and gradually the rest disappeared. I did a Reset, and since that moment I see the intro-screen and then it goes black. Hitting the TEL button is somehow also a Reset...

Do the previous 2 posters have anything to report on this matter? It would be VERY welcome!

Thanks,
Jeff

Nav system

Installing the DVD Map Disc Your dealer/retailer may have installed the map DVD. If the map DVD was not installed, do the following to load it:
Read the following steps completely.
  1. Turn the ignition on. The vehicle must be in P (Park) to perform this operation.
  2. Press (power) to turn the navigation system on.
  3. Press the NAV hard key.
  4. Touch the Insert Map Disc screen button. The screen opens to access the map DVD slot.
  5. Load the map DVD partway into the slot. The system pulls it in. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  6. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.
  7. Set the search area. See "Setting the Search Area" earlier in this section.
Ejecting the DVD Map Disc The navigation portion of the system cannot be used if the DVD map disc is not loaded.
  1. Press the MENU key to enter the Menu options, then press the MENU key repeatedly until Nav is selected or touch the Nav screen button.
  2. Touch the Map Database Information screen button.
  3. Touch the Eject Map Disc screen button. The screen tilts, exposing the map DVD slot.
  4. Press the eject button, located next to the DVD map disc slot, and the disc ejects. Pull the disc out. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  5. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.
