I have 1997 Buick LeSabre. I can be driving anywhere at any speed and it will stop for no reason. I have no control over the brakes, steering anything. I spoke to Buick.com and they told me it was not a safety issue and that I would have to pay $95.00 to find out what the problem is. I have gone on several sites and found similar complaints on all models from 1990 to 1999. I am afraid to drive it on the interstates because it could stop randomly and I could be in front of a big truck and I have no where to pull over. Wow! Major accident in the making. Do they want to be sued???? I need to know if anyone else has the same problem because this is defintely a dangerous situation and Buick doesn't seem to care about their customers. I am out of work with hardly any income and do not have that outrageous amount of money to get a diagnosis of the problem that Buick has created. UH!!

Where did you get your last tank of gas? you may have water in your fuel, a lot of gas stations are adding water to the fuel in order to boost profits. Solution, go to the gas station where you last got gas and fill up a one gallon container. dump that container of gas into a glass jar wait over night and the water will separate from the fuel. for about $3.00 if the water separates from the fuel you know what the problem is. let the car run in the drive way until the needle reads "E" (without running the tank completely empty) then add fresh fuel for a reputable service station.

Have your front brakes checked and make sure it is not the warning tabs on the brake pads. They are there to warn you that the pads are getting down close to the metal and need to be replaced before more damage is done.Hope this helps.Good luck.

1997 buick lesabre steering locks up & can't turn left & whining

very possible that the pump has failed (seized ) internally so get it checked out at an accredited power steering specialist shop
if it does not produce pressure then the steering will lock or be extremely heavy to turn

My 1997 lesabre runs fine until Im at a stop then it idles ruff it is less sever when in park but bad when im stop using the brakes

Could be the Idle Air Control if so equipped. The smoother idle is because when in neutral or park, there is no drag on the engine from the transmission.

Power Steering pump appears to be leaking but is full????

Just guessing. Could it be a warped brake disk? That would cause vibration. And vibration in steering might conceivably cause splashing out the power steering reservoir. You would know if the disk were warped by a shudder when you brake at hight speeds.
