OBD test - Emissions test

hi ecudave, i will go for a tune-up / clean up; the injection system, intake and replacing the sparks, regular maintenance like this will surely clean you emmision. as per re[air cost or shop costs, that will still depend on which part to clean or to work on or even to replace like the spark, but it will not be more than $400.

hope that helps

2005 keeps getting emission control v1v solonoid malfuncion

Clearing your so called codes, actually clears all stored data
that you need to diagnose the evap system

Seeing as how that systems monitors only runs every few days,
it will be awhile before a professional can work on it with the
proper test equipment,a scan tool.

You failed apparently to google the evap code, to see the possible
causes of that code being set.

Answer: hook up a scan tool.road test forever, until the evap
monitor runs, check for codes, smoke test the evap system, component test the failed solenoid & replace

The check engine light is on and it failed the emission test. Someone told me that there is a way to get the problem code from the check engine light. Do you have any knowledge of this?

yes, the engine light on means your car has the obd2 code problem, you need a scan tool to check out the code, and I know this tool can help you car. or you can take your car to the local dealer to diagnose the code.

I have a 02 xterra and did not pass the emission test. The code showing was knock sensor, I replace it, but still dont pass. SOS please 3300cc.

Codes do not tell you what to replace
They only tell you that a malfunction occured
Does not mean anything need replacing
Example: if you got an O2 Sensor code from a loose
vacuum hose ,would you change the sensor.
Most people would. I would diagnose and repair the hose,
letting in the extra oxy and leaning out my sensor.

What where the Emission Readings?

What did it fail for

Engine light came on and gave me a code 1757 what does it mean

P1757 is a transmission code. This one probably wouldn't have failed you in the emissions inspection. The P0442 will, though. The P1757 is a transmission governer pressure switch fault. Either the switch is bad, or the wiring to the switch is bad. If this was a history code stored in your computer, this may have been a one time occurance. If it's a current code, you will be looking at this circuit. It's easiest diagnosed with a scantool.
