SOURCE: how do I replace the headlight bulbs in my 2002 Mazda 626

if the lens covers are yellow or discolored you would have to remove the lens and they have chemical at autozone or napa that can take care of this problem but to replace the bulb you open the hood and put your hand in behind the headlight assembly and there is a plug you normally turn counter clockwise and the bulb comes out always wipe the bulb off if you touch it with your hand because the sweat from your hand will cut the life of the bulbs

1998 Isuzu rodeo headlights not working. changed fuses, and bulbs , still not working

What does tried mean ?

You could not figure out if a fuse had failed?

You tested no fuses & replaced perfectly good ones?

You replaced head light lamps & did not test the old ones?

If the cable from the battery to the starter was an issue
Would you not have checked that?

If it was an issue, then the vehicle most likely wouldn't start

Not really telling us anything that was tested

Your asking for a guess to what?

How do you replace the headlight on a 2002 Daewoo Lanos

Hi there, together with providing you the solution to the problem, I also took the liberty of going one step further in giving you steps on how to remove the headlight bulb.

  • Find the hood release handle and activate it, the hood should pop open.
  • Once the hood is popped open locate the hood secondary or safety latch and release it. Then finish opening the hood.
  • Locate and remove mounting clips for any plastic shields that cover the headlight lens mounting screws or clips.
  • Some headlight bulbs can be replaced by simply grasping the bulb socket behind the headlight lens and turn it counter clockwise to remove it. This will expose the headlight bulb.
  • If the headlight bulb socket is not accessible the headlight lens may need to be remove or obstructions behind the bulb removed to gain access to the headlight bulb socket.
  • To remove the headlight lens remove all mounting screws and clips that hold the headlight lens in place.
  • After the headlight housing has been removed from it's mounts, release the headlight bulb from the headlight lens housing (turn counter clockwise) the bulb will then come out of the headlight assembly. Once removed, visually verify that the replacement bulb is exactly the same as the failed bulb before to ensure a proper repair.
  • Clean the headlight lens free from all debris to help maintain the seal from the bulb to the lens. This will keep moisture out of the lens.
  • Install the new headlight bulb by turning the retainer ring or bulb clockwise.
  • Re-install the headlight lens housing and reinstall electrical connector.
  • Re-install plastic covers.
After the job is complete turn the ignition key to the "on" position and activate the headlight switch. Observe the newly replaced headlight bulb to ensure proper operation.

Glad to be of help!!!

I am trying to change my head light bulbs but i have no idea on how they come out of the plastic housing i have a 2002 isuzu rodeo.

The Haynes manual is incorrect for this model year. 2002 Rodeo instructions are similar to the older model vehicles in that there is a retainer clip that secures the bulb in place. Directions: There are two separate rubber boots at the back of the headlight assy. The smaller of two which covers the connector plug can be removed by pulling straight back. This can be somewhat difficult as there is little room to work and care should be taken if not to destroy the existing bulb. The second boot can be removed by pulling back on one its (2) rubber tangs. I found a pair of needle nose pliers at a slight angle helps. Then you can see the wire clip that holds the actual bulb in the housing. Push the clip in (towards the bulb) and to the side away from the retainer clip. The bulb will now be free and just about drop out. Reverse the steps to replace.

Headlight replacement instructions

Release the hood latch inside the Rodeo. Raise the hood and look down behind the headlights. The old bulb and assembly are held into the headlight from the back side of the the headlight. There is not a great deal of room to work behind the headlight because of the battery on the passenger's side and the air cleaner box on the driver's side.

Grip the large round plastic nut with your hands and give it a quarter turn counter-clockwise. Carefully remove the head light and plastic nut. Look for the release lever to depress and pull on the old bulb at the same time. It will unplug very much like your computer power cord. Be careful not to drop the plastic nut.

Now plug in the new bulb and replace the plastic nut. Carefully insert the bulb into the headlight and give the plastic nut a clockwise quarter turn and try the new light.

I just replaced both of my headlights last night and I am an accountant.

Good luck!
