It could be the anti theft, there is a button near your left knee in the drivers side, not marked, real small, press that while turning the key in the ignition

Try removing the battery leads for up to half hour then place it in park and cross your fingers . under the console they have an inhibitor switch which prevents them from starting in gear you may have damaged this also just simply check all of your fuses just prey for a simple solution. let me know if you get stuck

Just purchased a toro zero turn mower at garage sale. Ran very well first couple weeks. I was running it the other day, shut it down, jumped back on 10 mins later, mower does not start.

You'll need to check all the safety switches. Probably one in the seat, one for the mower engaged, one for clutch/parking brake engaged, possibly one for reverse gear selected, and possibly for position of the steering arms.

Why does 2005 Kia Sorento die randomly

I was on vacation in S.C. and engine would die every 20 mins. or so, I took it too dealer and they could find nothing wrong except a bad plug wire periodically wouldn't fire. I said replace it and 3 years later problem is still fixed. Must have caused a glitch with computer.

Restarting problems

The first thing you need to check is your coolant level. If it is low then the Coolant Temperature Sensor will not be in coolant, but in air, or steam, but either way it will signal the computer that the engine is cold and therefore deliver a very rich fuel mixture, flooding the engine. It could also be the engine temp sensor itself, sending incorrect temp readings to the computer. Either way once the engine has been allowed to cool down, the false signal to the computer will be correct. If the truck is emitting black smoke once it warms up, then this would be another sign that the Engine temp sensor is bad.

I have a 2001 Ford ranger supercab that makes rattling noises. It has a 4.0L SOHC. It makes a very fast and loud metallic rattle wich softens anfter about a second or so when I first start it for the day....

4.0l's are notorious for valve rattle on cold start-up. There is really nothing you can do to make it go away short of completely replacing the valve train in the top end, and that isn't a permanent fix. It's is an top end oiling issue from the factory. Just don't race your engine on cold start-up until the rattle stops.

The rattle in the transmission sounds to me to be more of a loose dust shield/heat shield around the transmission or exhaust than a mechanical issue.
