Question about 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

I have a '95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the V8. When my son had the car he complained thata it would die on him when he stopped at a light. It sat for about two years and then I rescued it. Now, at idle and in "drive" with my foot on the brake, it seems to run fine for about a minute, then the RPMs drop and it almost stalls. Then it clears up and idles fine again for a minute or so (I just got it started today and haven't driven it). Any ideas?

Hi! I do suspect that the MAF (mass air flow) sensor is faulty. The MAF has big contribution on engine performance specially on the idle and vacuum supply. Have it replaced and you'll be good. Hope this helps and thank you for using FIxYa!

I have a '93 jeep grand cherokee limited 5.2 v8.

Disconnecting your battery, as you must've done when changing the starter, will cause the ecu to revert to factory settings and the computer will have to relearn the proper idle for your jeep.

Your main ECU is in need of repair. Your jeep is displaying signs of the common delayed start problem. The check engine light does not light up, for a while, then when it finally does, the fuel pump gets power and it starts. Have your ecu repaired.

Remove front Rotors

To remove the front rotors, you first need to support the vehicle with a jack stand. Then remove the wheel.
Once the wheel is out of the way you need to take the two bolts off of the backside of the caliper, then compress the caliper and lift it off of the rotor.
Now you should be able to easily remove the rotor from the Jeep.
