Our 2004 Isuzu Rodeo has developed a coolant leak. The leak appears to be around or above a little panel or plate immediately behind the oil pan? Cannot find any other source. What is inside the littl

You will have to clarify behind the oil pan. Front of engine towards fan. Rear of engine transmission side. Or above the pan towards engine side. If there is coolant leaking from behind the engine (between the engine and trans) and is not running down from above eg head gasket or hose connection, chances are good that there is a frost plug leaking on the rear of the block.

Timing belt diagram for isuzu rodeo 2004 3.2 lite

Here's what pictures I have but as far as installing the belt it is VERY detailed. Not only are you lining makes up on your pully's you also need to put the belt on in a certain way. I don't know if you have the new belt but if you look at it you will see a couple of solid white lines and a doted line as well. These need to be put in a certain place as well. Not only do you line up your pully's you line up the belt as well. If you need step by step instructions, email me at csautomotivecars@att.net and I will send you the instructions and procedures and no there won't be a charge. Don't mind helping but remind me of the make, model, year and engine size of your vehicle if you do write. I hope this helps.

My rodeo started shooting steam out i filled it with coolant and during my 1 mile trip home water was pouring out from underneath,i poped hood, cap was on but steam was coming from below engine, help

Hi there,

Hopefully there is a hole in one of the hoses (least expensive).

No matter what, you need to find the source of the leak. A flashlight will be useful.

When the engine is cool, pour water in the radiator. You shouldn't need to run the engine.

When it starts dripping, look for the leak on:
  • The radiator
  • Large hoses leading to and from the radiator
  • Heater hoses (smaller leading to firewall)
  • Water pump (on the engine)
Once you find it, the severity and type of problem will dictated whether to fix or replace the damaged part.

95 isuzu rodeo is losing oil. No leaks and no blue smoke out tailpipe. Any ideas?

look for traces of oil in coolant, usually milky substance. Pull plugs and see if traces of oil or coolant are on plugs. Then do a cylinder leakage test to locate the vacuum leak.

I just discovered a small coolant leak underneath my 2000 Rodeo. What could this be from? It seems to be coming from an area behind the engine.

check the heater lines which run behind the engine
the rubber hoses may need to be replaced or the heater core is starting to leak also check in the top of the engine to see if there is antifreeze up on to could be a radiator hose or thermastat gasket

Leaking coolant from rear of engine is there a

No, that would probably be a freeze plug on the back of the block if the coolant is coming out between transmission bell housing and engine.

Having coolant leaking problems, everytime the car runs it runs hot, coolant filled, when car is then turned off coolant leaks out on drivers side underneath radiator. Hissing sound also on drivers side when running hot.
