Question about 2003 Ford Windstar

1 Answer

Heater works in back of van, but not at the front. There is a thumping noise in the console, which I believe is coming from a white box behind the radio. Could this box be the problem?

NO heat in front of 2001 windstar van. Thumping

Blend air door may be stuck. I removed a pencil from a heater box before. It had fallen from the dash, down through the defrost vents and jamed the door.

1998 plymouth voyager also leaks from behind the glove box

check the smell of the liquid. if it smells like anti freeze...heater core is leaking. no smell and it could be moisture from the a/c evaporator core (condensation like on a cold soda can) or the windshield seal is leaking.

Thumping noise in the front end

Inspect your tires look at the tread, observe the wear across the tread, inspect the inner and outer side walls, look for bubbles, look at the rim look for damage. The more info you get the better.

95 dodge dakota heater blower not working

It has been a long time since I've replaced one of those. From what I remember you don't have to go through pulling the heater box out. You do need to remove the glove box assembly. Look up under the passenger side of the dash. If you see the bulge of the motor/cover hanging straight down then remove the cover and the motor will be there. If you don't see that then te motor is mounted horizonally. If that is the case then the fresh air door assembly will need to be removed and it is behind that.
Here is a quick check to see if the motor is bad. Thump the bottom of the heater box by the passenger's feet. if the motor comes alive or makes noise then it is bad. Also check the fuse and make sure that it doesn't work on any speed. (the resistor would prevent operation on only one speed or more but generally not all speeds)

Heater in dash makes clicking noise, stopped no heat

The clicking noise you are hearing is the temp door actuator. It is located in the center of the dash. If you look behind the radio from the Passenger side of the van you will see a white square box with a black or green connector in it. Remove the connector and then remove screws that hold the actuator in place. Install a new actuator and reconnect the wire connector. This should take care of your problem and your heater will be fixed. I hope this was helpful.

No heat in front..only in back

PROBABLY THE BLEVIN DOOR MODULE LOCATED BEHIND THE HEATER CONTROL AND RADIO. FIRST REMOVE THE RADIO WITH DIN TOOLS AND THEN THE COVER FOR THE HEATER CONTROL MODULE WITH 7, OR 8 MM IT'S A WHITE PLASTIC BOX IF THE MODULE GOES BAD YOU MAY HEAR A CLICKING TRY TURNING THE LITTLE SHAFT IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER OF THE MODULE COUNTER CLOCK WISE SEE IF IT HELPS.
