The oil filter is located on the drivers side, next, and under the manifold. It's a canister filter. You will need the a special socket, extension and 3/8" ratchet to get the filter out.

I was replacing an air filter on a 2008 HHR with a 2.2L engine. I realized that there is oil on the air filter & in the housing. I am trying to locate the EGR valve so that it can be replaced. The...

The EGR valve is not likely to cause the issue you describe. The EGR is an exhaust gas recirculation valve. Because of the heat of the exhaust gasses involved, if oil were to get into the EGR passage, it would harden and turn ot carbon deposits. Your most likely candidate is the PCV valve, generally located on the valve cover.

Where is oil filter on 2006 hhr 2.2?

Hello, the oil filter location is on the front of the engine, just below the right side of intake manifold.

  • Use a 32 mm (1 1/4 in) socket on the hex on top of the oil filter cap, or an oil filter wrench on the outside diameter of the oil filter cap.
  • Remove the oil filter cap and filter.
  • Remove the filter from the cap.

    Where's the oil filter?

thats ok- they hide it pretty good. if you looka down from the top in front of the engine , it is tward the top, black and looks like a black cap with a bolthead on it. it takes a special tool to get ot off easiest. check out NAPA Service Tools P/N 3932 at your nearest napa. it is black and about 3" in diameter. you have to remove the cover, remove the filter cartridge/replace the cartridge and reinstall the cap with the special tool.
    good luck!!
