Sorry Guy, Maybe in more developed countries you have some magic mutie, but here it means removing the tank and cleaning all the fuel lines including the fuel filter and if your's is diesel I think the sooner you do it the better.... Water is non compressible, and if it goes into the pump or worse, the engine you can do some really bad damage.... If it is a diesel, DON"T even try to START it until its been decontaminated....All the best Johngee10

Water in gas tank?

If it was alot of water, the injectors would need to be removed and the lines flushed. Spraying water into the cylinders could cause damage. The pump may be damaged too or have a shorter life due to the lack of lube.

I put bad gas in 2004 lincoln aviator

The fuel your using, has nothing to do with the problem,
is the gas cap on properly

What logic, tells you adding octane booster would repair a vehicle,
& how would an additive turn off a light & do so quicker.

There are no products in an auto parts store in a bottle, that are ever needed in any vehicle,if they were, they would be listed in your owners
manual.

You should have had it checked for codes & looked them up or given them to us to look up

It would seen you have an EVAP System issue you need diagnosed.

It flutters and hesitates when driving somtimes

I had this problem when I was buying cheap gas (from Sam's Club) and later found out (since I worked there at the time) that this is a real common problem since they buy the cheapest gas they can get. I changed gas stations and the problem stopped.

I might have sugar or water in gas.

This is a Saturn ion i do not think there is and i would not even start this car if you even think there may be sugar in the tank,Water can cause a little damage but not really as long as there is gas mixed but still do not run engine. sugar is bad!!. this will cause lots of damage. converter, injectors and cylinder wall damage.
You will need to drop tank and drain it out and then flush it out good. then drain fuel lines and replace the fuel filter. after you are done i would put in a bottle of dry gas and a fuel injector cleaner additive in the tank.
Note ' make sure to flush tank good, When fuel lines are removed the fuel in lines should drain back out of lines. the only problem is what is in the fuel rail and injectors, this is why i said to add injector cleaner and dry gas additive to help if there is any small amount of water left in tank. hope this helps ,good luck.

Have a 1998 chrysler sebring lxi coupe. my husband put gas into it and started up and it immediately sounded real rough and driving it seemed like it was bogging out real bad. what do u suggest?

1) Check the fuel cap to be tight. Replacing it every few years is a good idea anyway. 2) Probably got bad gas with water in it. Get some gas dryer from auto parts store to remove water in fuel. 3) replace fuel filter if you did indeed get some water in the fuel.

ALOT OF SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST

Blue smoke is oil and means you have internal engine damage.
White smoke with a sweet smell means you have a blown head gasket (check antifreeze, if it's low that is another sign)
White smoke with no real smell is water in the gas tank. Grab some water remover.
Black smoke is a sign your burning to much gas, you need a tune up.

Overheating, and oil in water reservoir

Oil in the coolant tells me you have a blown head gasket. Only real way to repair it is to remove the cylinder head, check it for warpage and cracks, then replace the gasket (big job). There is a sealing system I've seen advertised but have no hands on experience with that and tend to think it may be temporary at best.

I shut my car off at 430 in the morn ran fine but let the gas get real low tried to start it at 100 in the afternoon nothing then it started up after i put in gas but check e light has been on and idles...

if the gas got really low to the point of almost running out it could have sucked some dirt off of the bottom of the tank an clogged the fuel filter,or could have caused a cavitation in the pump do damage to it, I think I would start there if you have had the bad coil replaced.

Bad gas in BMWX5

hello Idmathes, the best way is to remove the fuel sending units on the left and right sides so that you don't run anymore fuel through the system. the bad part of removing the sending units is that they have a specific installation angle. does the fuel just have water in it, or is it contaminated with dirt or something else? any foreign matter can damage the pump or injectors, and water can cause pump seizure. I would recommend removing the fuel with a suction pump and replacing the fuel filter after refilling your tank.
