Whens the last time you had them changed. Probably hitting the wear indicators. Need to have them serviced.

It means that one of the stop lights is not working. Check out the brake lights and replace the blown bulb. It may also mean that the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir is low and needs topping up.

Focus front brake grinding noise on frist braking in the mornring

Look for a metal tab at the brake. It's only supposed to touch (and make noise) when the brakes are worn down. Sounds like it's bent in too far.

you need to fit new anti squeel shims or make sure you fit a quality recognised part as cheap alternative pads are'nt always upto the job.

I have a 2007 focus, and about 20,000 miles the rear drum brakes started squealing. My Ford mechanic said this is common and offered to fix it for about $200. Is there a recall or TSB from Ford Company...

I was once told that the squeeling comes form the edges of the brakle pads vibrating when you stop. To fix it, remove the drum and sand off the edges of the brake pad. If you want to get serious, taper the edges of the pads with a grinder. Some Brake pads and shoes come tapered right out of the box. Be conservative only remove a little bit of material.
