Question about 2008 Subaru Outback
Your going to have to access the release from the tire well over the tire to release it and most likely replace the cable that activates the release, or at least repair or replace the release mechanism. In most cases this is a matter of the plastic release arm breaking. The only way to access this area is to remove the flashing area over the wheel which is just held in place by push pins in most cases.
