2003 Audi Allroad - Air Suspension will not go up past Level 1 - Level 1 Light Flashes all the time even after several resets. Car is so low in Flashing Level 1 that normal tires rub fenders on turning - particularly right front. First time in 4 years I have had this problem. Desbassett@hotmail.com

Low tech solution .i had this for 2 weeks the car sat there.i solved it by putting a tight filled with uncooked rice in the back of the boot there is a compartment on the passenger side, this is where the control unit for the suspension is having had a leak in the front of my allroad it sent the computer mad and after solving the leak i needed to dry it out .the rice absorbs moisture from around it. i found a gap in the window surround above it .i sealed the gap first .it doesnt cost much it involves almost no effort & after a couple of days it started to work again. cheaper than a mechanic .odd but it worked on mine

I've a 2004 Allroad and I had the same problem, especially when I leave the car unlocked for a couple of hours. It goes down from level 2 to below 1 and seems that it doesn't want to lift up again when I start the engine: the green light flashes at level 1 and the yellow suspension indicator behind the wheel stays on fixed. I normally have to start 3 times before having the pump lifting the car back to level 1 and 2. I will never leave the car unlocked anymore... and will visit a specialist soon.

You need to check with dealer to remove fault code for suspension thru 5052 scanner. The system is sending a fault and it eventually ends up in the ECM

Service air ride suspension

Sounds like the valve body for suspension system or a front air hose leak.

My 2003 audi allroad suspension is stuck on the lowest hight and won't rise up to any other levels. What is wrong?

sounds like your air supply pump for suspension not functions. you should check the system by professionals.

I have an 2003 Audi Allroad and the air suspension doesn't raise the car. The suspension light blinks in the 1 position. When I first start the car I am able to manually adjust to position 3 but nothing...

Couple of quick things to check, when the air system is trying to raise the car you should hear the pump running in the boot of the car ( lhs rear) . The pumps are known to fail but not too regularly. The more common issue is that the rubber bladders in the air springs develop hairline cracks which leak, more prevalent on the front than rear. Get a spray of soapy water and spray all round the bladder, start the car and select a higher ride height. You should be able to see bubbles....or indeed if its as bad as you identify you will be able to hear a hiss ( assuming the pump is running of course) New air springs are available and not too difficult to fit.....dont buy the hugely expensive stuff from Audi try Arnott Industries in the US, they have an excellent remanufactured replacement which is far superior. Hope this helps Iain

Hi i have a 2003 audi allroad , the suspension in front side is going to low when i stopped for long time , and sometime when i put it into level 3 ,it goes back to level 2 if whem the car is in moviment....

This is a common problem.
Firstly the sinking of a side when the car is left for a while is indicative of a leak in the air bladder on the suspension, it has to be replaced as a unit, not particularly difficult but AUDI prices are high, try Arnotts industries in US, they have a remanufactured unit which is superb. Secondly the suspension system is designed to lowere the suspension from the high ( 3) setting when car is driven for anylenght of time above an average speed ( I think 50 ish MPH on lev3) when the vehicle has been driven for a period under the average to trigger the drop to lev 2 then the suspension should rise again to lev 3. hope this helps

ASAP QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The light can come on for a number of reasons. One of which is that the pump is getting worn out. It will run too long trying to maintain the height/pressure setting and overheat which lights up the light. I believe that the light will be lit if it is unable to raise the car to the desired manual height setting for the suspension. These all lead back to the common issues... air bags with small leaks and then a worn out suspension pump.

I had the brake light switch replaced by a local dealer. Cost was $140 and it fixed the problem. Have driven the car for two weeks since and no lights and all systems normal.
