Question about 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser

When I start my '04 PT Cruiser GT Turbo the oil light comes on. If I turn the car off then start it again the light does not come on. The light does not come on when I'm driving it at all. I've changed the oil, oil filter and sending unit, what could be causing the light to come on?

The oil light is from lack of oil pressure. Either the oil pump is going out or the oil pressure sending unit is going bad. Giving the ECM false reading. This is very critical that you get this checked out. No oil pressure will burn the motor up very quickly.

Sounds like a faulty Sensor or a Sludge issue. Have the Sensor checked.

Most likely sludge that settles at the oil filter screen. There is very little clearance between bottom of pan and screen. If this continues I would remove oil pan and clean and replace screen.

Sounds like your oil sending unit is going out and needs replaced. its on the backside of your motor which you will have to go underneath it and get to it.Its a cheap part and should solve this problem .. Its a simple easy fix. You just unhock wire connectors to it then unscrew and then use pipe tape and screw back in then plug wires back on it then its done. simple and should be easy to find its location if you haven't already seen it

It's OK that oil light flickers or comes on while starting. It turns off when oil pressure comes up to normal. That won't happen till car is running.

05 pt cruiser turbo.oil is getting into intake manifold.smoke is coming out of exhaust.installed new turbo.still doing the same thing

It is getting into your exhaust manifold-the return line is either restricted or blocked, or the oil seal inside the turbo housing is either leaking or blown, usually due to excessive crankcase pressure.Try disconnecting the oil feed and return lines first, clean them out, and try it again-if it is still there, the turbo will have to come out and it will have to be gone over for blown seals.

2003 PT Cruiser turbo. Has just 67k miles on it. Just began making a low pitched loud whistle sound on acceleration or load/uphill. Gets louder with greater acceleration/load, no decrease in power.

I took my car to Keller's Auto Repair in Gettysburg PA, He specializes in Chryslers. I have 04 Cruiser with 2.4 Turbo that had the same whistle noise, and check engine light on. He found code P0301. The noise was caused by the #1 Cylinder injector O ring. Check them out on facebook. They will help you.

My pt cruiser 06 2.8 turbo started leaking oil?

OK, anytime oil gets into the cooling system or vice versa, there's a strong possibility that there is a leak at the head gasket.

Could have to do with overspeeding the engine.

The cooling system can get up to 14 to 16 psi, enough to burst into the oil lines which run next to the cooling lines in the head and block.

If it's spilling on the front driver's side of the car, then you have some serious problems with this engine.

I changed the battery and still have a no start. Guages light up, then nothing when I turn key to start.

It is important to check teh oil. Low oil means low oil pressure and the car will not start. Try that good luck
