Question about 2002 Mitsubishi Galant

1 Answer

I was driving down the road and the car stalled like I was losing power. Took it to garage, they said it has spark, their computer is showing nothing to be wrong but it cranks and will not start. They said that I may have attempted to s\rt it too many times and now an anti=theft device has kicked in. Their solution-take it to a dealer. the nearest dealership is 35 miles away.

While driving 2006 impala down the road, car tries to stall lights interior and exterior flash, but car never stalls and regains power immediately?

You have a power wire rubbing the chassis somewhere in the harness that when it slightly touches metal the voltage drops and causes the flickering and will make the computer act up. Finding exactly where the short is occurring will be a tedious and time consuming inspection of the wiring.

change your fuel filter ..your vehicle will run but your fuel pressure is weak ..also after this clean your fuel injectors by pouring injection cleaner in your gas ,,it will correct itself..Also ,,if none of what I stated works ,,Spark plugs and new spark plug wires needed ,,Lastly your fuel pump

I was driving down the road and lost power..no gas..no brakes...no steering.

did it restart?
the engine stalled, as such you
get
no engine power
no P/S reverts to manual steering, you did not loose steering.
same with P/B power brakes, you didnt lose it you lost power
assist, brakes will stop just as vast but takes a husky foot.
in school (driving) we were though to drive, stalled engine.
i guess most school went dumb. (seen it)
now stalls
engine stall for a vast number or reasons.

do that tuneup not called the 60k mile service point list. did you.?
cars ignored all fail, no car runs 300k miles service free,
skip them and get stranded, (i promise)

1: lost electric power to the EFI system.
2: engine overheated or lost compression for any reasons (complex)
3: lost spark
4: lost fuel
5: too much fuel, flooding, and stalling.
6: egr sticks open.
7: ISC sticks closed.
8:if not restart, say so and list expands way more...

cars are complex, it's not like a burned out desk lamp.
vast complexity and after 2007 , insane complexity.
avoid them 2007 and newer, sans NASA engineer.

Engine stalls while driving down road, stalls while turning, and has lose of power. has heavy fuel smell out of exhaust.i was thinking fuel injector sticking. not giving any codes.

Technically it should have a code for the O2 sensors if nothing else. They should be reporting to the computer that the fuel mixture is too rich. Yes one of the injectors could be dumping fuel, or it could be a faulty fuel pressure regulator.
